Our team members are bright, ambitious and eager to learn.
Our staff have excellent communication skills and are interested in being involved
in management of the practice and are prepared to assume responsibility. As
well as having a good work ethic, our team members also have a sense of fun
and this contributes to our outstanding work environment.
Human
Resource Management
We recognise that the "product" sold by our business
is technical expertise, and as such, our employees are our most valuable asset.
As a consequence human resource management assumes a high profile in the management
of the practice and we seek to attract and retain the highest calibre human
resource assets possible.
In view
of this:
- It
is a priority for management to provide appropriate career development and
opportunities to staff at all levels.
- All staff
participate in the annual practice development conference. The conference
is usually held away from the office over 3-4 days.
- A profit
sharing arrangement is in place. This "strategy" seeks to reward
team members for above average practice performance.
- Client-staff
relationship is encouraged at all levels.
- The development
of staff networks is encouraged.
- Continuous
education support is provided and encouraged.
- Job specifications
are in place for all team members.
- Regular
appraisals of performance against position specification are conducted. As
part of this process employees are encouraged to discuss their expectations
of their employment and to provide feedback on all aspects of their career.
- A standard
form employment contract is in place for all team members.
- An Harassment
Policy and an E-mail and Internet Policy is in place and all staff have signed
copies of the policies acknowledging their awareness and understanding of
the policies.
Training
provided
- Professional
taxation updates are conducted at our premises by Webb Martin monthly.
- Senior
members of staff participate in an internal monthly tax discussion group to
discuss current taxation issues.
- All
professional staff are encouraged to attend various seminars conducted by
the professional taxation and accounting bodies and provide feedback to the
rest of the firm when appropriate.
